Mathematicians explain their representation

Students listen to a variety of math problems with addition and subtraction. They draw their thinking as a double check of their thinking.  Students share strategies with peers on the doc cam and use appropriate mathematical vocabulary.

We watched a quick brain pop video about editing and the process of writing before we began the next step in transferring our information!

Researchers at work....




























Students explored informational text today to pick an animal for their animal research project.  They looked through over 100 different animal books, used text features and their emergent reading skills to research an animal of their choice. They each filled out a graphic organizer to help break down this multi step project.  Stay tuned...

F is for Friendship Fruit Salad

Students loved cutting the fruit, learning about kitchen safety, the importance of hand washing, and how to work together to make a dish for everyone to share!  ***Plastic knives were used and closely monitored!
