Literacy Center Practice

Every day students engage in a variety of activities to extend the early literacy skills we are building in the classroom.  Students get choice in where they go each day within the choices I provide to them 😁.  

Students choose from:

• Read to Self - Read the pictures or retell favorite stories.  
• Read to Someone - Sit knee to knee with a partner and take turn reading the pictures in a book or retelling a story.
• Writing - Write the room, label the room, practice handwriting
• Listening Station - Listen to the story and illustrate your favorite part
• Computers - Listen to stories of their choice 
• iPads - Handwriting or phonics app
• Word Work - Match puzzle cards with pictures that rhyme, find the letters to make the words we are working on:  I, like, the, and.
