Any time we can squeeze in Zap (a counting game) we do. We start at random numbers and count up. It requires knowledge of numbers, listening, fast processing and turn taking. We started on 4 and counted to 13, if you said 13, you were zapped and had to sit down. We stopped several times to make predictions about who would be the next person to sit down and justified why we thought that. It is awesome to see when the light bulb goes off and the students figure out that it is not random and that they can figure out who sits down next.
